Google Zietgeist is a really cool looking reporting tool. According to Zeitgeist, globally, Rebecca Black (no relation) was the top search globally last year. In the UK, Royal Wedding was the fastest moving search, followed closely by iPhone5 (which disappointingly later turned out to be only iPhone 4S rather than a new generation product).
